Goal reached! Super Ubi Land Demo! First Piano Cover! and more!

The $5,000 goal has been reached! This will greatly help us with development and I will be heading to Dexter’s Laboratory to figure out the very best way to utilize the funds in order to make the most it! I’d really like to thank everyone who believes in this project and believes in what my team can produce. This is just the beginning. We plan to make multiple games (for the Wii U, PC/Mac, and whatever other consoles/devices we possibly can), with each game give it our all and applying what he have learned from previous projects! We literally couldn’t have gotten this far without your support!

I’d like to also note that we have received our very first piano cover for Super Ubi Land’s main theme by Zackery Wilson! Check it out:

We hope to get musicians to make more covers for Super Ubi Land’s music. Calum Bowen is currently writing out each song in piano sheet form and backers will receive the sheets after the kickstarter is finished.

SUPER UBI LAND DEMO UPDATE:
I am still tweaking and working on the SUL demo. I am hoping to have it complete and uploaded by tomorrow! If there are any youtubers out there, I’d definitely would love to see videos of you playing the demo and giving us your feedback so that we may improve the game and make the best we can!

We still have 10 days to go with the kickstarter! We hope to be able to hit our stretch goals for things like obtaining a mac mini to test Super Ubi Land on for Mac users, adding additional content (levels, unlockable character(s), and more).

Please check out our Steam Greenlight page and vote for us!

And please help spread the word about Super Ubi Land through Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, friends, whatever your means. We’d truly appreciate it!

Over 200 backers! And More Super Ubi Land News!

We’ve reached the 200 backer mark! We are so thankful to have your support!

I am currently working on a 4 level demo build to let you guys enjoy while I continue working on completing the rest of the game. I’m debating on whether or not I should include the first boss in the demo because I’d like to hold that off for the final build.

I have found a voice actor (Daman Mills) who is working with me directly on Super Ubi Land! His work is great and is really upping the quality and overall experience of the game. So now we will definitely have voice over work in the game. I am working those into the demo build as well.

For those interested in the OUYA, I have the Notion Games OUYA development kits being shipped to me now so I’ll be playing around with that soon. I’m not entirely sure how well Super Ubi Land will run on the OUYA, but I will upload tests later on once the kits come in.

Nintendo has announced their new “Web Framework” which will allow HTML5/Javascript games to work on the Wii U. This is great news because Super Ubi Land is built in HTML5/Javascript so porting should be a lot easier! I don’t have all of the details just yet about the Web Framework, but hopefully it’ll be enough to do a great running port of Super Ubi Land without too many changes.

Super Ubi Land Kickstarter now Live!

Super Ubi Land Kickstarter Trailer

Our small indie team has put as much work as we possibly could without assistance. We’re coming to a point to where we need to purchase development kits to port to various consoles (Wii U development kit, OUYA development kit, etc.). We are also needing a Mac Mini for testing on the OSX to make sure the game runs properly on all Macs. There are plenty of other  expenses such as purchasing the BUSINESS edition to the Construct 2 game development engine (HERE), paying people to do voice over and narration workpromotional material (fliers, posters, etc.), art supplies, and any other things we may need during the touch up phase of Super Ubi Land’s development.

Check out the kickstarter page and help us make this game a reality! :)

Team Notion the Game Update

Notion Games is now an official developer for Nintendo! Everything that I have learned/learning from Super Ubi Land will be applied over to Team Notion and now Team Notion has a HUGE chance of being on the Nintendo Wii U!

It’s been really hard having to learn programming and doing the art SOLO but things are rolling in motion. I have recently recruited two artists to help out with the assets for Team Notion. We will enter full production on the game this summer.

I really apologize for the delay. I’m trying my best to get these projects out to you guys and I want the quality to be as high as I can possibly get it. Towards the end of the summer I will be posting new art for the Team Notion game and hopefully a prototype build for you guys to try out as well.

For now, Super Ubi Land remains in production and has been a GREAT learning experience thus far! The game itself is shaping up to be really good (it’s what got my studio approved by Nintendo!). Also remember that everyone who has pledged to the Team Notion kickstarter last year will also recieve Super Ubi Land for FREE. It’s my way of saying thanks for the support and an apology for the huge delay.

Now… back to work! I’ll update you guys soon!
