I’ve really been in the mood to draw lately. I guess it’s because I got my shipment of XEROX 11×17 paper about a week ago. I will never understand why I’ve been drawing on 8×10 and 11×14 paper. This size is MUCH better and allows for more detail to be draw and just gives more overall space to work with compositions.

In this drawing, I have Akuma vs Heihachi, Kazuya by himself, Makoto vs Leo. I know some people are like ‘who’s Makoto???’ If you’re asking that, then you need to play more Super Street Fighter 4

The whole illustration from thumbnails to completion took about 12 hours (LONG TIME -__-).

There are some things in the pencils version that I like better such as Kazuya’s face. I think the inking transition ruined the look I wanted for him. That just let’s me know that I still need to work on my inking. It’s cool, practice/improvement is always apart of anything you do.

Have any of you seen the trailer to this recently annouced game? Looks amazing. check it out. I’m rooting for the Tekken side to whoop up on Street Fighter!

I have been thinking for a while now ‘Why haven’t I created any Metal Gear Solid art?’ That’s my favorite video game franchise next to the Resident Evil and Final Fantasy series. I’m going to do the entire series, of course starting with 3 (for those who play the game… you’ll know that 3 is the VERY beginning). My next poster will be of Metal Gear Solid 1, then 2, finally 4. My original Idea was to do them to where you can connect each poster and it’ll make one grand poster with the entire series but I really didn’t come up with a cool layout for that.

Creating a poster wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be. I basically drew the main characters and started adding lesser supporting characters around them. Not too shabby I would say

Here are the pencils to the poster. These aren’t the complete pencils but basically it has everything in it. I had Sokolov in there and was going to add other characters but I felt everything would have been too bunched together. I was a little upset that I wasn’t able to do a full character cast in this poster but whatever.

And yes, I took the time out to shade in my pencils even though I knew I was going to ink and color this piece. I just like having complete pencils. Something cool to have as the ORIGINAL. And who knows, maybe it’ll be worth something one day.

If you’re like me, then you head out to the gamestore about once a week just to see what specials/deals they have going on at your local Game Stop (or Amazon ). I knew they were having buy 2 get one free this weekend so I dashed out to the store before people started picking off all of the great titles. I ended up getting Bayonetta, Darkisiders and Assassin’s Creed 2.

I haven’t played anything yet except for Bayonetta but I’m hoping that the others are just as good. I must say that Bayonetta is excellent game so far with very fun battle mechanics.

The Come Wit It Artist tournament 5 is over (the Winner is Howard Russell). I felt it was a good idea for me to sketch up something based on the theme for the last HURAH! for it. The theme was ‘Pixar’ and  I chose the movie ‘Up.’ I still have yet to see this movie but I’ve heard nothing but great things about it. So I’ll be checking it out this weekend all snuggled up with my fiancée Sandy

Even though I did the most basic concept that the movie posters use all the time for this film, Idecided to take it in a different approach as far as camera angle is concerned. It was a challenge (not the drawing it self) but fitting all of this onto a normal sheet of 8.5×11 computer paper. It’s time that I really start working on 11×17. Good thing is that I ordered a whole batch of it a couple days ago. It should be at my doorstep any day now.

Also, my son has been sick with an ear infection all this week so getting any drawing done was basically an impossibility. I had to stay up all night just to get any drawing done. Ah well, that’s what we artists have to do.

Sugar Rush is a new Iphone/Pad/etc game that has recently come out and the guys at Agimat comics were asking for fan art on their facebook page. I decided to draw something up for them to show support. The winner gets a free download voucher for the game. I don’t have an Iphone/Pad so already I know that if I won it, it kinda wouldn’t matter too much. I did wanted to show them that they do have supporters.

Why didn’t I color this illustration you asked? Well, if you haven’t noticed lately, I’ve been trying to work on my penciling techniques and get them to a point where I’m satisfied. I would also like to eventually make a book in only pencil to make the creation process faster.

Here’s something interesting that I’ve drawn up yesterday. I was playing around with an artist buddy’s character, The Legendary Sketchman, and decided that I would draw myself as well as a character. I ended up really liking the concept as myself as like this assassin ninja. I know, I know… it’s not really original at all but I still think it would be cool to touch upon. So basically, I’m going to be teaming up with Brandon Murphy to create an 8 page comic (or so) just toying with the idea of us as animated ninjas. I’ve been wanting a tribal tattoo for some time now so ofcourse I had to include it in the concept as well.

The movie that we’ve all been waiting for; children and adults… Toy Story 3! I had to do this pic to show my love for one of my best childhood movies ever.
